Mark Matheson

Director - Modern Edge Physiotherapy

Mark is an accomplished musculoskeletal physiotherapist and member of the Australian College of Physiotherapists. He earned his Masters Degree at Latrobe University and successfully completed a rigorous selection process that evaluated his clinical experience and knowledge.

Mark's expertise is not limited to physiotherapy alone, as he is also a dual-qualified accredited exercise physiologist. Working at Modern Edge Physiotherapy for the past six years, while also serving as an academic at Charles Sturt University, has enabled Mark to remain up-to-date with the latest research and clinical best practices.

Currently pursuing a PhD at Monash University, Mark is focused on improving outcomes in primary healthcare, which is a vital area in delivering effective and efficient patient care. His research aims to contribute to the development of evidence-based practices and solutions that can improve patient outcomes and experiences in primary healthcare settings. Mark's dedication to ongoing learning and research is a testament to his commitment to providing the best possible care to his patients and making a positive impact in his field.

Mark recognizes that collaboration is essential in delivering the best possible treatment outcomes for his patients. He has established strong professional relationships with medical services in the Port Macquarie region and strongly advocates for a collaborative approach to treatment.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mark is actively involved in the community. He participates in events such as the Port Macquarie Ironman, Cancer Council - Stars of Hastings Dance for Cancer, and strengthening and conditioning of students at the Port Macquarie Performing Arts studios. Mark has also been a long-time supporter of the Port Macquarie Pirates Rugby Union Club.

Mark and his wife have made Port Macquarie their home for the past 11 years, raising their two children in the town's vibrant and welcoming community. They enjoy the town's relaxed lifestyle and often spend their free time with their children exploring the town's beaches, beautiful outdoor areas and its neighbouring communities.
